I worked 6 days this week. Yowza. That's a lot to me. Lately,
There's this craft sow I'm in, Green with Indie, and I need to print my butt off for that. I had my week all planned out, and then Sandy at Knitorious offered me almost a week's worth of hours building the website. I couldn't really so no. I need the money, and I really like working there.
Then, one of the gals asked if I could work Saturday as well, because there was a bit of an emergency that was calling her out of town. Of course I would! I'm kinda glad they thought of me. I like being the swing person... But then, when was I going to print?!?!
It ended up that I got to take Wednesday and Friday. Which I did spend printing, and got a lot done. But I also was hit with a bout of extreme insomnia, and didn't sleep for three nights in a row.
On Thursday, I went to Arnold, Missouri to see a guy about a press. I ended up buying it from him and all the stuff with it. I loaded all this equipment into the car myself, and then ended up having to UNLOAD it ALL by MYSELF because Lucky, my S.O., was being an S.O.B. and went to bed. Jerk. I fumed for hours and that was the first night of no sleep.
Then Saturday, after working a full day I went BACK to Press Man's place and got the rest of the stuff. S.O. was better this time and even borrowed a truck for us to haul the stuff with.
So its Sunday, and I took the day off. Did some laundry, started to refinish an old valise I got and uploaded a bunch of stuff to flickr. Went to a lame BBQ for about an hour and now I'm home, eating Hot Dogs in true Chicago Style: Steamed bun, boiled dog, tomato, pickle, mustard, relish, onion, and celery salt. YUM. St. Louis style pizza can suck it.
Monday: printing my butt off again. Two weeks until the GWI fair, and I want to have a bunch of stuff to fill the table.

Cramming...
I find myself thinking a lot "How the hell am I ever going to find time for a full-time job? I've got so much stuff to do!" I'm so busy all the damn time, but I've got no income? how can I fix this disconnect? I'm not so sure.
I have managed to chip awa at my list of things to do lately. I finished a set of Birth Announcements for Ann, and finished my proprietor's card for the APA Membership requirements. Its not super good, but it's my first one so I think I'll the next one will be lots better.
Things I still need to do:
• Bake Bread cuz I'm down to the heel.
• Clean the damn house. The dishes are piling up.
• Print a plethora of other things for the Green With Indie craft show.
• Cut the pipe spool in half to use as a coffee table in the basement.
• Schedule an appointment with the guy who has some equipment I might want.
• Figure out how the hell to get enough done today to justify going to the Hand Built Bike Show in Indiana on Saturday.
• Put the laundry away.
• mail a birthday present to a friend.
And Sandy at Knitorious wants me to work everyday next week. YAY!!! But I'll be losing a whole week of printing time. Ugh. Guess I gotta kick it into high gear here.

I would like to have...
1.) A few more jobs with flexible schedules, but high hourly rates.
2.) Another room on my apartment. I REALLY need some designated work space! Its a bitch setting up a project on the kitchen table and then having to clean it up every night, or conversely, scrub up the kitchen table and sweep the crumbs up every time I want to spread out some work. gah! Next apartment 2 BEDROOM.
3.) An organizational system for the closet in the front room. Its getting to be a nightmare in there! Its deep, and there's a crappy Ikea shelf in the back but there's three rubbermaid tubs in front of it rendering it almost useless.
4.) One of those diffusing screens for taking better pictures of prints and things I make. Its so difficult to take photos with good lighting ...
5.) A better system of record-stereo-receiver stackage. The stereo is taking up a LOT of floor space, and it looks so untidy over there. The cat is always knocking things or falling into the gap behind it, which unplugs the speakers or some other annoyance.
and I'm sure there's more. These are the things that have been rattling around in the back of my head lately, inflating all the other more immediate stresses. Soon as I have steady income I'll be able to get to work on these.
