Last night's dream is getting a little fuzzy but here's the crazy I remember from it.
I had traveled to the past for some reason that is now unclear. I had a guide, a man, who traveld back with me. I don't remember any detials about him except that before we began our "mission", he wanted to stop at a diner. Somehow he had traveled with a set of car keys, and was able to get to the car of the past with these keys so we could drive around.
We drove to the diner, and it turns out my guide's brother, dead in our natural time, had worked there. Since my guide was just a boy when this diner existed, his older brother would not recognize him as a patron. My guide just wanted to look upon his brother again, and ordered a cup of coffee for the both of us when he waited on our table. It was the end of his brother's shift, and my guide waited until his brother had left the diner to leave himself.
As we walked out of the diner into the parking lot, we saw the brother get into the car we'd driven there. The dream logic falls apart a little here but the brother had the "wrong" car. The keys my guide had brought were the keys to his dead brother's old car. But, in dream-logic, the borther had driven HIS version of the car to the diner and parked it on the other side of the lot. THe brother didn't realize he'd gotten into the car we were driving, which had our things in the back. If the brother found these things, it could mess up the timeline, so my guide now had to fix this issue of swapping cars back, and needed to leave me to my mission alone.
Since a new guide couldn't be assigned to me, I found I had a device not unlike a cellphone that could communicate through time, and on the other end of the line was "Grandma" someone. I can't remember her name. I don't think she was actually my grandma, but she may have been. (She was not unlike Mrs Fredricks from Warehouse 13). She spoke with meon this device and told me that I needed to contact my self as a child and go to my old house.
My old house was what I remember my actual Grandmother's home to be. (In fact, in this dream I recalled a few details about the real house that I had forgotten, which was interesting.) At one point I needed to interact with my mother, but I either posed as a babysitter, or realized that I was some how invisible as an adult and could pass as myself as a child in front of my mother, so long as my actual child self wasn't around. Also, it should be noted, that my "mother" was a large black woman with short curly dark hair, wearing a long dress. The exact opposite of everything my mother is in real life.
So I was able to talk to my past-self and tell myself what I was there to do. Because I'm me, I took it well and believed it and help myself find the thing the "Grandma" guide was telling me to find. I don't know if I achieved my actual purpose for being in the Past, but according to my Guide, I was to travel to a certain place in Europe where there was a portal through which I could return to my correct time. In order to travel, I needed a passport. So, I was instructed to ask my child self to help me find a certain little drawing/art kit. The kit was called "The Count Dracula Magic Travel Art Kit" and it had a cartoon Dracula theme, all tucked into a neat little folio with crayons, pencils and water colors.
My child self told me that I had never used this kit, because I had a better drawing set that I preferred because the crayons weren't so waxy, and the pencils stayed shaper longer. I gave the kit to myself once we'd rummaged through a bunch of art supplies. In the pile of papers, I happened to find a check written out to my Father from a scrap metal company where he'd scrapped some steel or something. I think I showed my Past Mother and she said it was never cashed because it for less than one cent (.689 cents I think it said). But, for some reason I thought it might be more than that and decided to hang on to it and bring it with me to the future so my father could cash it and get some money. How nice of me.
Back on the communicator device with my guide, she tod me to open the kit and make a passport with it. I thought she was joking, yeah right who's going to accept a passport made with crayons? She told me to just do it and so I took a piece of paper and drew a complete passport per her instructions. When I was finished, the drawing was an actual passport. The "Magic Travel Kit" was actually ACTUALLY magic. I had the thought of great disappointment that as a child, who had believed firmly in magic and hoped and hoped and hoped for so long to find evidence of magic, had it right under my nose and didn't even know it. How I wished I had used that kit as a child!
But, I also began to realize that if I HAD used it, I wouldn't be able to use it now to make a passport to get me home to my time. I don't remember what happened after that, if I got back to my time or not, because right as I was speaking on the communication device to the "grandma" guide, holding a crisp new passport in my hands, my cell phone rang and woke me up.

Last night I tossed and turned all night. I dreampt that the bike I wanted finally arrived at my door step. It was light as a feather, and I slung it over my shoulder to carry it effortlessly up the stairs. It was a nice dream until i tried taking the bike out for a ride. In real life, I have to get through the basement door, a wooden gate and a metal gate to get to the street. Usually not a problem. In my dream, there were gates, upon gates, upon doors, upon gangways, upon stair cases. There were random objects in my way such as logs, railroad ties, cinder blocks, big tangled weeds (hmmm, sounds like too much PitFall). Though the bike was light the path was arduous. Any interpretations aside form the obvious? The overall feeling I had was of satisfaction. I wasn't worried about the hurdles or the doors. I was so glad to have that bike. I remember the handle bars being wrapped in very nice clean crisp white tape. It was shiny and I was so proud to have it. The man I was buying it from was waiting for me to return after the final test drive, and only when I remembered I still had to pay him, did the doors and gangways and gates become hazardous and painstakingly difficult to get through. I knew the man was waiting, I knew he was becoming agitated with my extended absence. I tried to hurry, and that only got me stuck in the door ways, or made more doorways appear. It was frustrating. As usual, I don't clearly recall the end of the dream, so I don't know if I paid the man, or if he was angry. What I do know is that today I bought a new bike. The handlebars are wrapped in clean new white tape.

I slept over my friend Joe's house. I guess in my sleep I was sobbing, and he came over and hugged me and stroked my head. I didn't wake from this dream until later. I was at my grandmother's house. A house I haven't been to in almost 12 years. It was during the time she died. Somewhere in between the wake and the funeral. Or after it. Or before it. I don't know. I just know that she was dead, and newly dead at that. She wasn't actually in the dream. It was her absence that I was acutely aware of. I was looking through some clothes, in the tiny room at the top of the stairs, my uncle Pat's old room. I found something pretty and lacy, and old fashioned. A nightdress I think. I wanted to try it on. I slipped it over my head and went across the hall to gaze at myself in my grandmother's clothes using the big mirror that attached to her long. low bureau (which is now my long low bureau with the big mirror). The room was dim, and I fumbled for a light switch. There was a switch on the inside of the door, and the outside of the door. No matter what combination of switches on and off, I couldn't get the lights to stay on. Almost as if there were something in there I wasn't allowed to see. Or wasn't allowing myself to see. I finally just went in and tried to use the little light that came in from around the curtained window to peer at my foggy reflection. I turned around, and in my grandmother's room, her large four poster bed, which for those few years was our fourposter bed because I slept in her bed with her when she was so sick (She died of cancer) was dismantled and leaning against the walls. Taken apart. Because she was no longer there to sleep in it. I stared at those bed pieces, (which are also now my bed, along with the bureau) and slowly realized, she would never sleep there again. She would never lie next to me, muttering Hail Mary's in a soft voice as I fell asleep, never tease me with ice cold toes under the covers, never push play in the little tape recorder by the bed to drift off to whale song or Holy Choirs singing, which she fondly called her "angels singing" tape. Her rosary was gone, her pill box still full of meds never to be swallowed. Her smell was diminishing from the room. Her essence, her energy. She wasn't there. I backed up out of the room, suddenly overcome and terrified by realization. I fell backwards over more things stacked up in the hall way, ready to be thrown away or donated because she no longer needed them. My brother saw me fall and looked at me from the end of the hall, but did nothing. He watched my cry, and I cried so hard. lying on the floor facing her dark empty chasm of a bedroom. My chest was hurting. i was bursting at the seams with grief. It was so difficult to breathe. I felt that my brother couldn't relate. He didn't love her like I did. He didnt know what she meant to me. The only person I trusted. The first person I gave my whole heart to. Gone. Forever. It hurt just as bad upon waking and finding the dream remnant tears in my eyes as it had 12 years ago, the day I called her house and my mother answered her phone. I had tried to call the hospital earlier that day, as I had called every day to tell Gramma I love her, and I'd see her soon. But that day a nurse had answered the phone, and told me to call the front desk. The front desk told me to call the family. I didn't understand what that meant. I called her house, thinking she'd gone home. How right i was. Hi mom. Why are you there? i thought you went shopping? Is Gramma home? where is she? I don;t remember the phone falling out of my hands. I hardly remember my friend Sarah helping my instantly numb body off the floor and to the couch. I had been eating something. Oscar Mayer bologna. it sat on the arm of the couch, cold, limp. somehow emulating me. Someone came to get me. I don't know where Sarah went. The rest feels like I dreampt it. But it was real. I have to keep telling myself that. Part of me still doesn't believe it.

I was in this house, and one of my roommates had commited suicide right in the kitchen, shot himself in the head and there was blood everywhere. but he had written this song explaining why he had to do it, so every one was ok with it and just left him there, sitting up against a cabinet. I went over to the door, and out side a car with an old wise man was in it. (Carl Jung any one?) I knew that he was my teacher, but not in an academic sense, more like he was my Sensei, or Guide. He didnt want to come into the house, and wouldn't look at me. He seemed afraid and sad. I coaxed him in and was very gentle and soothing to him, holding his hand and saying how great it was that he had returned. (tho i didnt know where he had been). So he was in the house, and then I looked into my room, and up on my loft was a baby girl. She was also wearing the same Converse sneakers I was, but baby size. She was up there and had just woken and was kicking at the ceiling fan, like it was a mobile. I started walking in the room, and she sat up , rolled over and started to fall. I saw her falling, and knew I could catch her if I moved fast, but I didnt I just walked over as she fell onto the floor. The sound she made hitting the hard wood was horrible. She didn't move. I picked her up and she wasnt crying. The right side of her face was smashed in fromthe floor. it was then that i realised she wasn't my baby, and that some one had left her in my care (the Teacher maybe) and I had failed and broken the baby. then my alarm went off and I woke up.

Anxiety dreams. I dreampt that all the cool stickers on my computer were flaking off and I was mad. then I dreampt that my iPod was made of wax, and I accidentally slammed it in the car door and then dropped it and then it melted with all my music and files on it. I dream that I am waking up when I am asleep, because I know I am going to wake up 15 times a night. its weird dreaming about being awake, then waking up and going "wait was I dreaming that? Am I dreaming this? what's going on?"

I dreampt that I was bitten by this little bat, like the common bat, not a vampire bat. And it was really tiny. About three inches long.
I pulled if off my neck where it bit me like 4 times, and was holding it between two fingers ant the back of its head, like you'd grab a cat. Its little skull was so tiny, and for a bat, it was very beautiful. I remember feeling bad that I had pulled him so hard. The skin on his neck and head were pulled tight from me pinching it. His head was as small as my thumbnail.
Then these four bumps showed up on my neck. They were the size of a marble, and had a little blue dot in to top of each. They were like a giant pimple, and the blueness was something under the skin. I asked someone to tell me what they hell they were, and why this bat bit me, and the person was like " oh they are nipples", like bats bite at neck nipples everyday.
So now I have for blue nipples on my neck, and they aren't like people nipples, they are like baby bottle nipples, blue plastic. I squeeze one of them and it like squeezed out of my neck with this root or stem attached to it an inch or so long. I could get them all off. They were like medicine droppers. But blue. wtf? I don't nurse bats from my neck and the bat was all pissed off and i had to hold it and keep it from biting me again. Don't know how the dream ended.
What the hell does that kind of dream mean? I will have bat like vampiric children or something? Maybe it has nothing to do with children, just feeling in general like life is being sucked out of me maybe.
Then I was dreaming that my mom published a book and in it were all these secret things I never told her. I was like, why do u read all my secrets, and she said its my house u live in so I must know everything about you. I flipped out and tried to run away and she was hitting me, and I was screamed at her "I am leaving!!!" and asking her "Why do you do these things? Why do you cause me so much pain and distress?" As I was saying it to her i was thinking why haven't I moved before? I should have been out of here so long ago. It was like I am still mentally trapped there with my mother always having to keep absolute power over me.
I dream about my mom so much and they are always like that. She's chasing me and I can't run, or she's trying to kill me, or kill one of my siblings. Its like she's always in my head and I can't make her go away. Its so strange, I haven't lived there in so long, yet she still won't let go of me. Or maybe I am still struggling to keep her off of me.

I was dreaming that my mom was comatose with a feeding tube and hooked up to a respirator... But she kept moving around and scratching herself badly. A few times, we found her out of the bed, sitting in a chair, with all her tubes ripped out and she was bleeding. It was so agonizing. Then the dream changed, and I was the one in the bed, with tubes in my nose and down my throat and all hooked up. I was supposed to be in a coma, but I knew what was going on. I could see and hear but I couldn't move or make noise. I knew there were people around me. I tried to talk so hard, but my voice didn't work with the breathing tube. I tried screaming over and over until I woke myself up with this hoarse yelling I was actually making in response to dreaming about yelling. Then I went back to sleep, and had this other sad dream that my mom and dad and I were out in the barn at the incubator which was full of ducks eggs. It wasn't a real incubator, but a pot of hot water. To hatch the eggs, we dipped each egg in the boiling water for a few seconds, and instead of cooking the eggs, it was making them grow. Then we peeled off the shells and these beautiful black or yellow wet tiny ducklings were inside! THey dried off and were so pretty and fluffy. A few of the eggs didn't "incubate" all the way though, and when it hatched it had no head and died. It made me so sad. Then I realised that my parents were hatching these duckings to eat them!!! I was terrified! I tried to gather them all up and take them away, but there were too many. I couldn't save them, so I grabbed as many as I could in my arms and ran to my Mother, crying my heart out saying "Mama! don't eat the chicks!! Please Don't eat the Chicks! You can't! Look at them they are so beautiful , Don'tt eat them!!" And I was crying so hard in my dream it hurt. My mother and father looked at me and rolled their eyes and sighed, like 'here she goes again, being all vegetarian' but they didn't understand. The chicks knew. They were scared, they didn't want to be food, they wanted to be ducks and grow up to make more ducks. Those poor poor little chicks. I don't understand how people can eat ducklings. I want to save them all. I wish everyone respected animals. But they don't they segregate into "pets" and "food" and because we label some "food" they must be inferior. That is so ridiculous! ARGH. its so frustrating. I don't know. ANy way, I woke up bawling my eyes out, sobbing and choking because I was crying so hard. I had to get out of bed and wash all the tears off my face. It was horrible. I just have this picture of a basket of beautiful chirping chicks that were fated to die at the hands of my parents. I can't think about it anymore or I'll cry all day.

Over 400,000 metric tons of meteoric matter is attracted, exploded by the Sun every second. Thats 34,560,000,000 metric tons a day. My bike seat must weigh less than 5 kilos. Combined with the body weight of the individual who so kindly removed it from my bicycle and made it their own today, I'd say still less than 90 kilos. So, when I find them and send them hurtling into space on an express rocket to the Sun, sans seat, that will still only account for something around .0000000000002% of the matter consumed by our Sun. Seems rather insignificant. As are those individuals who steal iimportant parts of other people's lives. Meteors and zeros kind of look alike when you line them up. I hope I got them all. Thats a lot of zeros. Thats a lot of meteors.

Someone's watching! Look busy!
A thread on the LSG group in Ravelry asked to link to my weblog. I update Lock and Key Press more regularly than this one so I figured I'd better put SOMETHING here, in case someone actually comes looking.
You know, I have some great posts over on MySpace. Maybe I'll start archiving them here. Its neat to re read stuff I wrote years ago, especially the entries about crazy dreams I have.
So here's to you, Gnetleman'sRevolt, and your request that spurned me into gettin goff my duff and posting!

So sleepy...
Ugh, its 10:16 am and I'm so tired! Already? Still? I'm not sure.
I don't sleep well, ever, and I was up til about midnight last night. I had even walked a few miles so I thought my body would be decently tired enough to sleep well but no, of course not.
Plus the damn cats make so much noise EVERY morning around 4 am. Which means I have to get up, chase them around the house and lock them in the bathroom to shut them up. Damn cats. And every morning I consider just staying up, which I probably should do. But I don't. So I go back to sleep and I sleep REALLY deeply for about an hour. Its weird. Then I wake up late, and tired.
I signed up for a sleep study at St. Luke's hospital out in Chesterfield I think it is. It pays well, seems to address my exact problem and will provide free experimental medication. I hope they call me back.

Blogging is time consuming...
Ok, so I'm trying to really keep up on this blogging thing and maybe I haven't gotten into the flow of things yet but sheesh! I must've spent 6 hours yesterday updating Lock and Key Press, and then already another 2 hours this morning.
Dag. THe thing that seems to take the most time is posting pictures from flickr. Getting the right links, then making sure the page layout is good and there's ALWAYS some silly dangling code I have to go in and clean up...
I do like tha tI can see all the traffic to my weblog. Its very helpful. For instance, i saw that so many people were viewing the About section, I cleaned it up nice and pretty. Then, I added a contact section once I realized that these views might be potential customers looking for a way to get an estimate! YIKES! So, now, they can email or post me. Yay!
Other than the blogosphere, today I need to bake bread. I also need to shop for food, but that will have to wait a little bit. I think its about to rain and I don't like riding in the rain.
That's all.

Bad Economy = Bake Your Own Bread
The economy took a dump on our family big time. We moved a few months before all the exploding of the financial sector, and unfortunately, (as I've bitched about before) I couldn't find a job to save my life.
But being unemployed for 11 months has its upsides. For one, I've got all this time on my hands... Work sucks, man. You work all day, you get some cash sure, but then you never do anything because you have to work! So I began to do some of the things I've held in the back of my brain, telling myself I should be doing but never did because I never had the time.
I was also spurred in this direction out of necessity. No work = no money. Groceries are expensive, especially the way the USA forces us to shop. Gotta spend $6.00 on one box of food that lasts for one meal and doesn't even begin to fill Lucky's hollow leg. LAME. So I decided to take my food into my own hands, something I should have done a LONG time ago.
No more spending $5 on a loaf of natural and organic bread. No more buying in containers. I shop the produce section and get the majority of my food FRESH. THen, I cook. I cook enough for us for dinner, and leftovers for Lucky for lunch.
A big change was baking my own bread. Spending $4 on a bag of whole wheat flour makes way more sense than $5 for a loaf of bread. I've been baking a molasses wheat Brown Bread and it is DELICIOUS. I love it.
And yogurt! I made yogurt! Its so easy! Who knew? I acquired a yogurt maker from a friend and tried it out. Previously I had attempted yogurt in a thermos, but I didn't know what I was doing. So I borrowed a copy of "Country Wisdom & Know How" and looked up yogurt. Simple straight forward recipes that make everything form yogurt to raising chickens look easy! Apparently the trick is sterile tools and just enough bacteria. I've made it twice now, and its great!
Of course I made it soy yogurt, so I was a little unsure of how it would come out. I added a bit of agar agar to thicken it in case the bacterias didn't. Good call on my part. The yogurt is not thick like sour cream or store-bought yogurt, more like tzatiki or greek yogurt: thin and tangy!
Last night I made daal and onions, with chapatti bread and this yogurt was an ideal garnish! YUM!!!
Now, I've been reading through the book and we want to try our hands at cheesemaking. YES. We will make our own cheese!

I saw a Kestrel in my yard!
My apartment has a second floor sun room off the back of the house. While I'm printing, I can watch birds in the honey locust tree and the bushes at the side of the yard. I've been seeing a few birds that I hadn't seen before on such a regular basis.
There's a bunch of little red birds, with brown wings, that hangs out in the bushes with the sparrows and chickadees. I thought at first they were a young cardinal, because I see lots of them. But they are too small. So, I consulted Google, and turns out, they are a rosy house finch! They are lovely.

Then few days ago, I saw a large bird, I'd say about 10 inches tall, fly onto the wire that goes across our yard to the alley. Its back was to me, but it had a black cap, and dark wings. The space between the wings was lighter and spotted just a little. The bird was being pissy, sitting on the wire and squawking, doing that head-bob warning birds sometimes do. I looked at it for a long time, five whole minutes or so, until it flew away. I thought "Was that a kestral? that was a kestral!" But I'm not a birder by any means, so I had to look it up. Agian, I put its description into Google. Sure enough it was a kestral! This photo is exactly what it looked liked, found on the St. Louis Audobon Society. It was even in this position as I watched it. So cool! I've got a feeder out ther, but now I'm wondering if I should put some mice on a plate, or fish in a pond for the kestrals...

Oy vey... Its been a long week.
I worked 6 days this week. Yowza. That's a lot to me. Lately,
There's this craft sow I'm in, Green with Indie, and I need to print my butt off for that. I had my week all planned out, and then Sandy at Knitorious offered me almost a week's worth of hours building the website. I couldn't really so no. I need the money, and I really like working there.
Then, one of the gals asked if I could work Saturday as well, because there was a bit of an emergency that was calling her out of town. Of course I would! I'm kinda glad they thought of me. I like being the swing person... But then, when was I going to print?!?!
It ended up that I got to take Wednesday and Friday. Which I did spend printing, and got a lot done. But I also was hit with a bout of extreme insomnia, and didn't sleep for three nights in a row.
On Thursday, I went to Arnold, Missouri to see a guy about a press. I ended up buying it from him and all the stuff with it. I loaded all this equipment into the car myself, and then ended up having to UNLOAD it ALL by MYSELF because Lucky, my S.O., was being an S.O.B. and went to bed. Jerk. I fumed for hours and that was the first night of no sleep.
Then Saturday, after working a full day I went BACK to Press Man's place and got the rest of the stuff. S.O. was better this time and even borrowed a truck for us to haul the stuff with.
So its Sunday, and I took the day off. Did some laundry, started to refinish an old valise I got and uploaded a bunch of stuff to flickr. Went to a lame BBQ for about an hour and now I'm home, eating Hot Dogs in true Chicago Style: Steamed bun, boiled dog, tomato, pickle, mustard, relish, onion, and celery salt. YUM. St. Louis style pizza can suck it.
Monday: printing my butt off again. Two weeks until the GWI fair, and I want to have a bunch of stuff to fill the table.

North American Handmade Bike SHow
Spent the weekend in Indianapolis with chi-town crew, bike polo kids from all over and LOTS of amazing, breathtaking, awe-inspiring bicycles at the 5th Annual North American handmade Bike Show.
I coveted many a chrome lugged frame, flirted shamelessly with cute bike builder boys (my other half doesn't mind, cuz I always go home with him...), and even documented an illegal indoor polo game.
The weekend was almost beyond words. You should see for yourself. Go to my flickr and browse, comment and come back here and tell me how jealous you are that I'm friends with the Schwinn family.

Cramming...
I find myself thinking a lot "How the hell am I ever going to find time for a full-time job? I've got so much stuff to do!" I'm so busy all the damn time, but I've got no income? how can I fix this disconnect? I'm not so sure.
I have managed to chip awa at my list of things to do lately. I finished a set of Birth Announcements for Ann, and finished my proprietor's card for the APA Membership requirements. Its not super good, but it's my first one so I think I'll the next one will be lots better.
Things I still need to do:
• Bake Bread cuz I'm down to the heel.
• Clean the damn house. The dishes are piling up.
• Print a plethora of other things for the Green With Indie craft show.
• Cut the pipe spool in half to use as a coffee table in the basement.
• Schedule an appointment with the guy who has some equipment I might want.
• Figure out how the hell to get enough done today to justify going to the Hand Built Bike Show in Indiana on Saturday.
• Put the laundry away.
• mail a birthday present to a friend.
And Sandy at Knitorious wants me to work everyday next week. YAY!!! But I'll be losing a whole week of printing time. Ugh. Guess I gotta kick it into high gear here.

That "25 Things" thing. (0r, Damn You Facebook!)
Why is Facebook all of a sudden so damn popular? I hear about it on the radio, talking about it as if MySpace never existed, discussing the same social and cultural issues that were hashed out when MySpace first took the Social Networking scene by storm... Just yesterday, the radio was talking about how Facebooks Terms of Service claimed the rights to any content posted by users within the site. Apparently there's been a row over it. Really folks? THE SAME DAMN THING already happened with MySpace like THREE YEARS AGO! Journalism needs to do its damn research.
ANYWAY. Here, for your off-Facebook pleasure, are
25 Random Things About Me.
1.) I'm the oldest child in my family. I have 4 biological siblings, and 4 other siblings who aaren't even related to me by marriage, just by proximity. :)
2.) I love coffee and beer. If I didn't need water, i wouldn't drink it. I'd drink coffee and beer.
3.) Wash my hair once a week, if that, and bathe approximately twice week. Three times in the summer.
4.) I hide random things and forget all about them only to uncover them years later when I'm packing for a move/rearranging furniture. Things like a Mother's Day Card I hid behind a wall hanging and found 5 years later (I delivered it), a 100-dollar bill in my copy of The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, and random seemingly invaluable things under floor boards, behind walls or paneling and in the back of the bottom drawer of my dresser (where right now is hidden a Eucharist wafer stamped with an image of The Last Supper).
5.) I bite my nails and chew my fingers till they bleed. I've done this all my life, and only stopped once for about a month when I diligently ate 2 hard boiled eggs a day(for protein), painted my nails with awful tasting deterrent polish and drank gallons of water whenever I had the urge to bit them. But that was too damn much work and created more stress which made me want to bite my nails even more.
6.) I have 2 cats without whom I cannot imagine living. Charles Dagron Pinetti, a talkative, misbehaving, Ginger-colored rapscallion, and Firebrat, an older, distinguished, Dilute Calico Turkish angora mix who would rather not have anything to do with the likes of Charlie P.
7.) The idea of pregnancy makes my sick to my stomach, and I think being pregnant and in public is extremely rude. Especially if the expectant mother is clothed in such a way as to draw attention to her grotesquely swollen abdomen. Unless I know the woman personally and judge her to be fit for procreation, like Juile D. or Laura W. Then its ok.
8.) Children are on my wishlist for life, but I will be adopting every one of them. See #7.
9.) I am prone to prolonged bouts of misanthropy and general disdain for the human race.
10.) I recycle evrything I can, and as a result, the trash I take out to the dumpster equals about one plastic grocery bag every other week. I buy food with little packaging as I can, leave my produce loose to avoid using produce bags, and try to purchase items in reusable containers. I'm very concious about this and can't imagine how people can shop any other way... Also, my trash never smells or is wet because I compost all my food scraps. This is a significant point of pride for me.
11.) I'm OCD about the bed sheets being straight before I lie down. I cannot have a wrinkle in the sheet or I won't be able to sleep. I will make my partner get up out of bed in order to fix the sheets to my exact specifications.
12.) When I was young, my Father would scream and holler at us for small pieces of debris on the floor that we didn't notice, or pick up and throw away. We had 9 children, give or take, in that house and he'd pitch a fit about a gum wrapper in the corner, even when there was a mountain of dishes. To this day, if I notice a small piece of paper or bit of thread on the linoleum, I leave it there for DAYS. Once I even called him and told him I did this. He denied infecting me with this behaviour.
13.) I cook a full meal almost every night of the week, from scratch.
14.) I bake my own brown bread. its delicious and I'll never buy bread at the supermarket again.
15.) I collect "Pearls of Wisdom", "Old Wives Tales" and other Random Facts you can learn form Grandma or cartoons. Such as, Elephants are afraid of mice. Carrots give you good eyesight. Plant Peas in February after the last frost. Your corn should be "Knee High By July". Don't squish a spider or it will rain. Put brandy on the gums of a teething baby. Etc. etc.
16.) I've been unemployed for 10 months, and though its been a financial struggle, I'm quite enjoying being free of the shackles and burdens of a full-time job.
17.) Saint Louis is a terrible God-Forsaken wasteland with no Thai food delivery, no winter, no bike routes and too damn many shopping malls. I'm very bitter and reisitant to acclimating, even though things are beginning to work out for me here. I don't want to accept it because this environment makes me angry and sad.
18.) My Significant other, Lucky, is the best thing to happen to me in my whole life. I love him more than words can describe and cherish everything about him, even those things I dislike because they are part of him. I can't imagine life without him and I want to do everything with him. Spending every waking moments together and never being bored of each other even after years amazes me.
19.) I'm fascinated by ghosts, hauntings, the supernatural and things of the like, and love watching "reality" ghost hunts, documentaries and reading about haunted places. But I am easily frightened by horror movies, scary scenes and will not enter a darkened room alone.
20.) I think i might be a little psychic. Well, a little more than a little. I have an uncanny sense of intuition and deductie reasoning that allows me to pull details from impressions of a person, place or situation. Several of my friends think I'm crazy, several think I'm "gifted" and the rest just wonder "how the hell did you know that?"
21.) I dream about my Dad dying a lot. I'm afraid he'll die while I'm far away and I won't get to say goodbye to him. I pray he lives long, and that one day when he's old, I can move back to the east coast for the last years of his life.
22.) Although I am the voice of reason in my family and can predict the outcome of messy situations, and although my family frequently comes to me needing advice and assistance, NO ONE EVER LISTENS TO ME. The phrase i use the most these days is "I Fricken told you so."
23.) I'm usually the last one to know when something big happens in the family, just because they don't want to hear me say "I told You SO!"
24.) Letterpress printing and Knitting are my two favorite things to do, and the only things I've ever really commited to, besides sewing when I was a teenager. I'm largely self-taught, and hope to make some money from these activities.
25.) I miss my Chicago friends so so much. Natalie's little baby girl hugs, and Elliot's informative speeches, Clare's sense of humor, Dumptruck's sensibility, Jessi's support and encouragement, and Amber's unconditional love. I've never had such wonderful friends in all my life, and I regret leaving them.

Things I would Buy if I had 12K Dollars...
Student Loans, schmudent loans... I want this.Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury, with Fireproof Binding. Only $11,444.17. Think I can get it for 5,737 payments of only $19.95?
First edition. Limited issue, number 193 of 200 copies specially bound in "Johns-Manville Quinterra, an asbestos material with exceptional resistance to pyrolysis" (limitation pages). Signed by the author. A very good copy indeed which shows a little wear to the spine ends and slight dustiness to the spine and outside edge of the front board. A generally clean and well preserved example. The author’s famous novel of censorship and book burning, which takes the form of a futuristic science fiction novel but explores the effects of mass media in the 1950s on literature. It instantly became a cult book and went on to be regarded as a classic of dystopian as well as science fiction. The title famously refers to the temperature at which paper will spontaneously combust, so as a novelty 200 copies of the first edition were issued in a fire retardant binding, and signed by the author. This hardy binding, however, has not generally weathered well, being white and prone to soiling. Clean copies are now scarce.

Pizza and Beer night.
I'm so tired, I really want to order pizza delivery tonight but we don't have the funds. Dag. We don't even have any beer.
We've got just enough ingredients to make a silly pizza, but man, I really want the delivery man to ring my bell and there it is all cooked and ready to eat. ugh.

Twitter and Facebook
Facebook has surged in popularity. I don't know why. I don't really like it. But now all my previously MySpace contacts are finding me on Facebook, an account I forgot I even had til the last few months... What's that other one? Oh Friendster. Why is no one on Friendster?
Anyway, since I've been on Facebook a lot more than I like lately, i thought perhaps I'd ad yet another social networking site to my daily time expenditures.
BEHOLD the link that is my Twitter account!
Tweet me, bitches.
